Vic Firth 5A Xtreme wood tip Reviews 5

I'm a drummer. I'm originally from Brazil. I play in a band called Glint.

For as long as I can remember, finding the perfect pair of drumsticks have always been a difficult task. With the wide variety of options we have now days, makes this decision only tougher. I've been drumming for over 13 years now and the quest for a perfect pair to me stopped soon after I found Vic Firth's X5A. Besides being, what most of writers say about my playing, a heavy-hitter (which I believe, it has more to do with technique than strength) I do have a 'soft side' as well. Vic Firth's 5A pair always seems too breakable when I was going loud on the drums, but perfect for the more sensible and intricate parts. The 5B, as you might already guess, always felt the complete opposite. The X5A was my 'holy grail' in a drumsticks long search. It was the one which made possible to me sound really loud and really low while resisting the dynamic changes required for the style of music I play and the style of drumming I have. The X5A pair usually range from $7 (online) to $9 (retails). You can always find discount deals when you buy a few at a time.

Endurance, that's the word that describe best the X5A. No wonder they named it 'Extreme 5A'. You get a lighter pair with the durability of a heavier and thicker pair.

So far I haven't found any dislikes about this pair, maybe the fact that still brakes. I always try different pairs now and then. With so many options being released every year, It wouldn't be wise if I didn't. But in the end I always go back to the X5A. I know I can trust on that pair. I know It will make me deliver the performance I'm aiming to.

The X5A is 16 1/2' of length and have 0.565' of diameter. It has a 'tear drop' tip shape enriching drum and specially cymbal sound. It's made from Hickory wood, which gives the pair its great resistance.

In my drumming adventures of the last 13 years, I found on Vic Firth's X5A my comfort ground. The pair that I can trust at any time, at any performance. For the dynamic drummer, this pair is the perfect choice.

I got them for $5.50. Bought them at Dave Phillips Music and Sound in New Jersey.

I really love these sticks. I have had them for over a month and they haven't broken yet. They are 1/4 inch longer than normal sticks and very durable. I wouldn't go with any other brand.

Nothing!

Very nice. Love it

Buy these and nothing else
